Every time I think I know something, turns out that I don’t. My lack of knowledge is vast.


For example, I thought I had it all figured out about the left, which make up, I’d say, about 10 percent of the Israeli population but runs so much of the entire show, like the high court, the news media and the arts, and even, in some cases, the top brass at the IDF.


Which brings us to the situation facing Elor Azariya, a 20-year-old sergeant from the storied Kfir Brigade who’s in trouble for finishing off a terrorist.


For doing that, he’s been charged, by a military court, of being too hasty, or to put it in official language, manslaughter and inappropriate behavior.


By the way, by use of American firepower, including drones, we kill thousands of terrorists every year in places like Somalia and Afghanistan.


Nobody talks about manslaughter or inappropriate behavior. We just do it because a terrorist is a terrorist, we’re right and they’re wrong.



What I don’t get is the malice and the ruthless attacks against this soldier, coming from people who themselves have kids in constant jeopardy.
It’s us or them, so we prefer that it be them to take the bullet.


We shut up about it and make no big deal about dead terrorists. Navy Seal Chris Kyle is credited with being the most lethal sniper in American military history. He’s been credited with 160 kills during several tours in Iraq and

it’s doubtful that he asked too many questions before taking aim. Even later nobody asked. He is considered a great warrior for our side, a hero.


Apparently it’s different in Israel, the part being run by the left, and which wants this soldier, Elor Azariya drawn and quartered, if you will forgive my exaggeration, but I don’t exaggerate too much. Instead of a medal of honor, which many of us think this Israeli hero deserves for acting so decisively, the left is onto a campaign to vilify this soldier and by insinuation his family and his unit…and the IDF…and Israel. The language being used against him is downright slanderous and we are not talking about the Arab side that a few nights ago held a victory party to celebrate a bus bombing in Jerusalem that burned and wounded more than a dozen Israeli civilians.


No, we’re talking about the Israeli left, the Haaretz types who have no patience for the facts, or for Jewish heroes, they’re so much in a hurry to pile it on this kid, and as I say, the invective has been brutal, and as I said earlier on, I remain clueless as to what motives the left.


Aren’t they also Israelis? Aren’t they also Jews, and here is the main point – don’t they also have sons and daughters in the military?


Aren’t they concerned about their own children in the same spot where Elor Azariya finds himself?

Or are there exemptions for the left? As soon as you show your Amira Hass or your Gideon Levy papers you are free to stay home.


Yes there are exemptions, but for other reasons. Most serve, and serve (along with the United States) in the most honorable military in the world.


So I get it, yes I get it about keeping it ethical, above reproach. What I don’t get is the malice and the ruthless attacks against this soldier, coming from people who themselves have kids in constant jeopardy. To what end is this spite and derision? What happened to Elor Azariya yesterday could be happening to your IDF child tomorrow.


Or is this thinking too deep for people who’ve already made up their minds, in the worst possible ways.

Maybe it’s getting lost, the fact that every single soldier protects the entire nation, and this includes protection for leftists and Arabs, the million and a half of them who seem quite happy to stay put in a land that so often takes their side of any argument.

A house filled with some 2,000 rounds of ammunition and nobody saw nothin’. Zip.

The place was crawling with a massive arsenal of weapons that likely filled the garage to the kitchen sink -- but who, me?

Nothing. Looked pretty normal, say relatives, friends, acquaintances and anybody who visited a house that was stockpiled for mass destruction.

Even people who lived in and around the house – WHAT? We saw nothing unusual.

They had to step over and around a mountain of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) to get from the living room to the bathroom, but nobody winced?

Nobody asked – “Yo, Syed, what’s this?”

That’s what we are supposed to believe. Nobody else but those two had a hand in the murder of 14 innocents in San Bernardino.

Accomplices? Zero. So they say and so we are expected to believe.
Mr. Obama spoke to us a few moments ago. Finally called it terrorism, though not Islamic terrorism. For us to guess.

He announced that he is taking the fight to ISIS. We should feel safe.

Except that ISIS, or ISIL, as he calls it, is one problem.

Worse is the local, the unaffiliated but radicalized freelancer who comes from within our own neighborhood.

We know where ISIS lives. But for the introvert, the retail operator we have no address until it’s too late. Case in point, San Bernardino.

We are not at war with Islam, said the president, so no wonder people who knew the Farooks were shocked…shocked!

Typical Americans, say people who knew them.

Quiet. Unassuming. Friendly. Hard-working, Doting father. Loving mother. Played Scrabble. How do you spell jihad? Capital J?

There were no clues. Nope. Nothing to suggest a husband and wife radicalized to the hilt and armed to the teeth.

“They lived the American dream,” said a neighbor, who likewise saw nothing, knew nothing, suspected nothing. Nothing at all.

Golly, he was born here, good old Syed. What more do you want? Wife came from Pakistan. Wonderful country, Pakistan.  

So what if, as rumor has it, he hated Jews and maybe Christians. Doesn’t everybody? A regular Joe, Syed.

She kept to herself, did Tashfeen. All agree to this. Typical American wifey in a hijab. Most likely clipped coupons to save on milk and explosives.

“They were the perfect couple,” say people who knew them as the perfect couple.

Too bad it had to end like this. Obviously it was our fault. Global warming.

So the president assures us that he is keeping us safe.

Ban Radical Islamists and those Syrian migrants from entering the country and we’ll start believing.

The laugh of the day comes from Islamic terrorist Mahmoud Abbas. He accused the Israelis of destroying the “Palestinian” climate.


That knee-slapper is no sketch from Comedy Central. No, it happened in Paris. That’s where world leaders have been meeting to discuss the weather.


Really? Yes, really.


Myself, I do not recall Churchill, FDR and Stalin discussing the weather when they met to resolve a world in turmoil. During a World at War, three times they met, Tehran, Yalta, Potsdam, and the sense of urgency was always about War and Peace, never the weather.


Now here we are again, different leaders facing a different war, but these men and women are more worried about climate change than Islamic terrorism.


This is not a humor column, people. Not yet.


So Hollande was there of course, during this Paris Climate Conference, weeks after Islamists murdered more than 100 of his people.


He said that Islamic terrorism is very bad, but the weather? OMG!


Name any crisis anywhere about anything and he’ll blame Israel; won’t let it go to waste.   


Merkel was there at a time when migrants were deluging Germany, but it was the weather that got her to Paris, come rain or come shine.

Germany is being destroyed by weather – got that?


Obama was there. Most of all, Obama. This is his baby. He was proud to say that this conference, about the weather, will teach ISIS a lesson. We will not be defeated….and this word just in: the towel-heads are shaking in their boots. “A weather conference!” wept their leader. “We are sunk.”


All the world’s leaders were there in Paris, 150 of them, at a time when we lack a single world leader. Putin comes close.


Mahmoud Abbas showed up. He dances at every wedding. This is the thug who has overstayed his PA leadership by more than 10 years. In other words, he is no leader, world or otherwise. In plain language, he is a terrorist, a bum and a killer – but always good for a laugh. So, ladies and gentlemen, heeeer’s Mahmoud.


No kidding. This cat’s got real possibilities for stand-up comedy. We hear that his pal Geraldo Rivera just lost his radio gig. Get the message?


So this part-time comedian, what was his message? He announced, with a straight face, that Israel is carrying out ecological attacks against his people. “Our agriculture is being destroyed,” declared Abbas, yesterday’s financier of the Munich massacre and today a “world leader.”


What a guy! What timing!


Name any crisis anywhere about anything and he’ll blame Israel; won’t let it go to waste.   

If you remember Gush Katif, then you know how funny that is, that zinger.


Because when 10,000 Israelis were forcibly vacated from there, from Gaza, they left everything behind. This was Sharon’s pogrom against his own people, the Jews. So they left and handed over farms and greenhouses, all in pristine condition, and what did Abbas and his Arabs do the minute they took over this billion-dollar industry?


What did they do when they were handed this windfall, all this cutting edge agriculture?


They trashed it and burned it all to the ground, is what they did. Overnight, rubble.  Rubble. This they do well. Nothing else.


Did anybody laugh at Mahmoud’s whopper? Don’t think so. World leaders don’t laugh. They do shake hands. Bibi shook hands with bloody Abbas.


That too happened in Paris.


Big mistake. That is not comedy when a Jewish world leader stoops so low. That is tragedy.

Following the Paris massacre, the usual announcement on the train came with a higher tone of urgency – “If you see something, say something.”
So what are we supposed to say when a company of Muslims steps in, as they just did? There is no shame in their eyes over what happened.

What happened? Islam came to town. That’s what happened, and now more than 100 Parisians and visitors are dead.

Again, the message over the speaker: “Report anything suspicious.”
Well yes. Muslims are suspect. Too bad about the ones who are no part of this and in some places targets and victims as well.

But that’s what they’ve done to us, the Allah Akhbar crowd. They’ve turned us into justified bigots. We fear all of them, the good along with the bad.

Yes I said this and you can quote me, “justified bigotry”…but within the context of people who intend to do us harm.

Later, G-d can sort them out but meanwhile our reckless leaders keep importing them by the planeload. Obama is even accelerating the welcome.

More keep coming to the United States, Canada and throughout Europe and about Europe last week, in connection to the EU’s decision to libel Israel through labeling, I wrote, “Enjoy your anti-Semitism while you still can. Don’t look back. Islam is coming.”

Some 48 hours later Islam came. Islam came with a bang. Islam came to town. Some people never learn.

In Canada, I have just learned, federated Jews are spreading out the red carpet for these newly arrived “Syrian migrants,” most of them men without women or children; most of them of military age and most of them deserters. But these Jews know better and have chosen to be more hospitable than Abraham and more merciful than G-d.

I imagine the same sense of idiotic compassion extends to some American Jews, people who can’t see immigration jihad when it stares them in the face.

The FBI clocks Islamist terror cells in all 50 states, but for what purpose if more keep being imported than deported?

Next time we get hit – and we will – will our geniuses be shocked, shocked! Shocked and amazed! Will they say, “Nobody saw this coming.”
How much clearer can I be when I keep saying – what happens in Israel does not stay in Israel?

It’s never been about Israel. It’s always been about an entire generation of Muslims radicalized to the hilt throughout the world.

Perhaps this time Israel itself has learned the lesson that no matter how much territory it gives up, it makes no difference. It’s not about land.

It’s not about anything. That’s the scary part. It’s about something else that our Western minds can’t absorb.

It’s about their commandment that commands them to kill. That’s it, period. Will the Left get this message? Probably not.

Even the Left and even Bibi, for once maybe they’d give it a rest, the talk about a “two-state solution.”
You know…two nations, side by side in peace, harmony and security.

Is Hollande being asked to start a peace process…get the ball rolling to divide Paris in half? I haven’t heard.

Hollande is kicking at doors throughout France. He’s prepared to be “merciless.” Obama, Kerry and the UN – are they demanding “restraint?” We only hear this when Israel is attacked and retaliates. Are there cries and complaints about the French president using measures that are “disproportionate?” No, that too falls only upon the Jewish State.

Are the French now being logically careful and suspicious and furious after what just happened – or are they being “paranoid?”

That’s how the BBC defined Israel’s jittery reaction at being knifed and firebombed hour by hour at the hands of these same killers. “Paranoid,” said the BBC.

Now who’s paranoid?

Now who’s weeping, Geraldo? Oh the tears. As the event moved from two Paris victims to 10 to 50 to 100-plus, TV started blanket coverage. Fox News did best and anchor Shepard Smith, usually a jerk, did better than okay. In the middle of it all, here’s Geraldo.

We see him being hooked up to Paris with his daughter who barely escaped the slaughter. Miles apart and they’re both shaken and weeping.

Shaken and weeping as are Israeli fathers and mothers when the terror comes to their sons and daughters but nobody cares. Not Geraldo.

Now does he understand that it is not about “the settlements?” Too much to ask, I’m afraid, because to some people it never sinks in.

Like the couple seated across from me on the train and already I know there will be trouble. They’re reading their bible, The New York Times and, turns out, they know me from my columns and my books and especially “The Bathsheba Deadline,” which the woman says ought to be banned and burned for being so “intolerant.”

Intolerant, for example, about the people who just stepped into our train, and it is not the Asians we are panicked about.

Yes I am intolerant against people who keep blowing us up. Sorry. I am funny and intolerant that way.

I Will Now Define Torture

Former detainee, Binyam Mohamed, reports that practically everything was brutal during his confinement but worst of all were those CD blasts from rapper Eminem.

Finally, we know how to break alleged terrorists. Forget water-boarding. That’s peanuts. Give them our culture, domestic or imported, and surely they will confess. Give them, say, 10 minutes of Bill Maher, softly or loudly, and they’re sure to spill their secrets and tell us where bin Laden is hiding. (I’ve tried Maher for nearly an hour – true torture – and was ready to confess my own crimes and misdemeanors to anyone who would listen.)

If that doesn’t do it, the mere TV appearance of Hanan Ashrawi, even on mute, is guaranteed to have them crying uncle. Likewise our own Hillary Clinton and Israel’s Ehud Barak whose pansy appeasement and loyalty to terror is so sickening that even terrorists can’t help but shield their eyes and muff their ears.

If they still refuse to cooperate, in or out of Gitmo, well then, there’s no choice but to get REALLY BRUTAL and here, of course, we’re talking about sitting them down to watch a PBS Fund Drive, those beg-a-thons that just won’t quit and where the pleading and panhandling persist without end. Top that off with the wit and wisdom of Bill Moyers and even the most hardened terrorist will plead – “No more, Please!”

True, we learn from “Cool Hand Luke” that “some people you just can’t reach.” So how about a dose of Keith Olbermann? Play him loud, play him soft, either way, there will be results, and if not, Moyers and Olbermann back to back. That may be too much even for die-hard liberals – oops, Progressives – but maybe not. One of my Progressive friends suggested that I give Olbermann a try – “he’s so funny.” So I tried and am still suffering. This IS cruel and unusual punishment.

Reality TV – where ordinary Americans perform tasks and tricks that beckon our lowest instincts and that are too demeaning even for dogs – yes, Reality TV is where we’re at our worst (I think), so make them watch and then watch them banging the walls. As for me, I can’t watch these shows, but other Americans do, voluntarily; that is, they watch even though the torture is not intended. Or maybe it is!

A blast from Bruce Springsteen always works for me. I’m always ready to cooperate after even a snippet from “The Boss.”

We learn from Binyam Mohamed and other inmates that STUPID HUMAN TRICKS are the most lethal form of abuse. I propose, therefore, as an alternative to slapping and eye-gouging and electric shock, a few blasts from The Jonas Brothers. These kids were manufactured to pick up where the Beatles left off. They’re multi-talented except for the fact that they can’t dance and can’t sing. For this reason they are popular and even performed at the White House. This is certain to disgust any terrorist in confinement and have him beg for mercy.

My gawd! Our culture is nothing but noise!

I could name hundreds of other pop groups (Beatles clones) that can’t sing or dance but that make it to the top of the Billboard Charts except that I can’t name a single one; they come and go so fast after raking in their millions. I do catch a few of these acts somewhere in the middle of “Saturday Night Live” and find that the girls are already prepped to scream in delight – or is it pain?

I think it’s pain. I think it’s torture. Let those terrorists get a taste so that they’ll comply as readily as we’ve surrendered.
