DO ISRAEL A FAVOR AND BACK OFF--PLEASE - APRIL 17, 2016

Don't want your honey and don't want your sting.

Published: Sunday, April 17, 2016 10:29 AM

Something feels rotten when Democrats start talking about Israel. Even their words of support sound fishy.

Bernie says, “Yes, Israel has a right to defend itself.” Wow. How generous. Keep it going like that and better than Brando in “On the Waterfront,” you will remain a contender. You will be somebody. But then he keeps talking and ruins everything. “But I question the disproportionate response.”

That’s approximately a direct quote. I couldn’t keep up as these two kept going at it during the Thursday night main event on CNN.

Well somebody had to watch it, and I did. I did it for you, to spare you the gibberish.  Yes this was some brawl between these two Democrat lightweights. Blitzer had to keep stepping in to keep them apart and the last time I saw anything like this was when Mike Tyson bit somebody’s ear off in the ring. (Evander Holyfield.)

The two contenders left standing for the Liberal side faced off over the banks, Wall Street, the economy, race relations, the minimum wage, gun control, but I can’t recall who was in favor of this or against that, because I do not believe a word of it anyway.

They’ll say anything to get elected and do unto us what Obama has been doing over the past nearly eight years – only double.

I do know that they love abortion, adore mass legal and illegal immigration, and have no problem with terrorists.

I took notes, but not fast enough to catch anything on foreign affairs, like say Iran, Iraq, Syria, North Korea or any of the other places that pose a danger to themselves and to the United States of America…not to mention Israel. My mistake. Israel is always mentioned. Israel always comes up.

The world has become a small place for Liberals. There’s us, and there’s Israel, and seldom in a good way. But hold on.

Hillary came back to say…I’m not sure what it was, but it sounded like she was taking Israel’s side, more or less.

Hillary, who takes advice from people like Sid Blumenthal and other anti-Israel hotshots, said Israel has a right to do anything to stop the bombing.

Which Hillary would we be getting if she gets herself to the White House heaven forbid? Bernie we know. Oh Bernie we know.
Or was that Trump? Yes it was Trump speaking someplace else. Go Trump!

But Hillary was not about to let Bernie get the upper hand on who’s the bigger fake Zionist.

She said, “Hamas uses human shields because Gaza is so densely populated. They have no choice.”

No, wait. That was January two years ago when Hillary excused Arab terrorism and placed the entire blame on the Jewish State.

Fast forward to Thursday night, and NOW she says quite the opposite, that Israel is on the spot against an enemy that uses every dirty trick in the book.

Or something like that, according to my notes. But clearly she was reaching for the Herzl Prize.

Which Hillary would we be getting if she gets herself to the White House heaven forbid? Bernie we know. Oh Bernie we know.

At a time when Israel needs a true and firm friend from the United States, both of these pretenders remain lukewarm, two-faced and hypocritical. Neither of them seems capable of getting it straight when
it comes Israel, a condition that seems to afflict so many Liberals from the top all the way across.

So why not just back off?

Israel, which ranks as the world’s sixth happiest country, does not need all that attention, not your curses or even your blessings.

As Rashi has it terms of an insect for the hypocritical Balaam: “I don’t want your honey and I don’t want your sting.”

CONSERVATIVE INFIGHTING COULD HAND DEMOCRATS AN UNDESERVED VICTORY - MARCH 16, 2016

If Conservatives keep bickering, they may hand us over by default to the scofflaw Hillary Clinton.

Published: Wednesday, March 16, 2016 6:00 AM

Chalk this one up for the Liberals. They’ve ignited so much chaos at Trump’s rallies that they’ve got Conservatives fighting among themselves.

Liberals seldom fight among themselves. Mindlessly they go with the herd.

Conservatives clash. Or as Descartes would have it -- I think therefore I am a Conservative. I think therefore I am pro-America, pro-Israel.

So what’s up with the Breitbart flap as it concerns some reporters? Plenty. But first the headlines.

I’ve got a headache. I just listened to a Hillary victory speech.
Trump has taken the Florida primary and gets all 99 delegates. That’s huge. Hillary also took Florida but nobody cares. The fix is in. She is destined to win the nomination for her side because the Democrat power brokers say so and Liberals always follow the leader. They dare not dissent.

It’s a form of mind control we find in such Progressive flunkies as Juan Williams and Alan Colmes.

Republicans differ. They tend to be selective and think for themselves. This does cause dissent. But give-and-take is what Democracy is all about. Republicans are not robots and Ohio went not to Trump, but to John Kasich last night, and so for Trump the rumble has just begun.

This is good for America. Let the best man win, though outside of Trump, who?

Please let’s not argue as to whether Trump is a true Conservative. We’ve covered this already and I’ve got a headache. I just listened to a Hillary victory speech.

What they’ve got is a migraine over there at Breitbart, for some time the go-to site for Conservative news and views, political correctness be damned, which makes it a perfect fit for Trump, which is precisely where things went wrong. Editors and reporters have started leaving the online newsroom feeling that it’s too much in the bag for Trump.

If so, Ohio was not a success. Other than that, it was a good night for Trump and for Breitbart, but not for one of its reporters.

The trouble started in Florida at one of those Trump rallies. Trump was in top form, the crowd was exhilarated and peaceful – and then came the thugs.

These are the same thugs who disrupt our campuses. Yes, BDS and SJP -- and when they get bored bullying Jewish kids they find other soft spots.

They found Trump.

When they show up anything can happen, and it did. There was pushing and shoving and in the middle of it all a Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields claimed that she was pushed and shoved. Not by one of them. But by a Trump campaign manager. She expected her bosses to support her.

Instead, she claims, they supported Trump. So she quit. So did a few more staffers, notably Ben Shapiro, who’s often seen on Fox News with Megyn Kelly.

Whose side to take?

I can’t say. In fact I dare not say. Something happened. It’s like any family squabble. Wisdom says outsiders should keep out.

It’s not our business but it would be a shame to lose the clear-headed energy that’s been coming from Breitbart.

Energy is the word when it comes to the news business. Editors and reporters are in a mad dash to get it first and get it right.

Friction happens as I tell it first-hand in this newsroom thriller.
Shapiro has been a particularly strong voice for Israel and it would be a waste to lose him within Breitbart or out.

Mostly, it would be a shame if Conservatives keep bickering and in so doing hand us over by default to the scofflaw Hillary Clinton.

We can’t make the same mistake again. From Breitbart onward Conservatives need to patch things up to make amends for the past eight years.

The New York Times has already given the Breitbart dispute Front Page, so you know they are chortling and dancing in that newsroom.
Patching it up has been Trump’s latest plea, and he asked for it again last night.

Imagine John Kerry back as secretary of state and more humpy dumpty deals like the one he made for us with Iran.

Can’t have Liberals get the last laugh.

The New York Times has already given the Breitbart dispute Front Page, so you know they are chortling and dancing in that newsroom.

Every voice that advocates for America and champions for Israel is precious and must be handled with care.

MEMO TO IDIOTS CHEERING BERNIE AND HILLARY - FEBRUARY 5, 2016

Communism sucks. Socialism does too. Ask the people who survived both systems.

Published: Friday, February 05, 2016 8:07 AM

As Fidel came to power in 1959, how many Americans slid onto rafts to get into Cuba? Or took the last ship to Havana? I’ll need actual names.

Attention to all you college kids out there so starry-eyed for Bernie – are you serious?

But you’re young. Far and wide you’ve been educated by Liberal pro-BDS professors, so you’re not expected to know too much except that the two most reliable beacons of tolerance and liberty, the United States and Israel, are on the wrong side of history.

Pure brainwashing, but you will grow up. There is no excuse however for people already grown up who still cheer for Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

You really think socialism is okay?

Let’s be clear. There is no difference between socialists, liberals and progressives. They are all Communists, or shades of the same mentality.

Either way, it’s about taking from the rich and giving it to the poor in order to make everybody equal, meaning equally miserable. It’s also about a one-man show. No checks. No balances. Like Obama visiting a Baltimore mosque to offer Muslims his love and concern.

But Obama visited no synagogue to share Jewish grief for loved ones being slain in Israel, most recently the 19-year-old woman of valor Hadar Cohen.

Nor has Mr. Obama ever shared concern for Jews being tormented on campus.

One man, one rule, can be so arbitrary.

Communism sucks. Ask the people who lived there. Call it by its more pleasant and more acceptable name, socialism; same answer. Unbearable.

The only people who win under that system are the medaled guys on the Kremlin balcony waving down to the impoverished suckers.

The system is so rotten that even Putin isn’t a socialist/Communist anymore. Russia gave it up, more or less, for its own type of free enterprise.
The system works beautifully for those who rule. Like Stalin and all the rest. They get the fat. The people get the lean. If that much.

The rulers own chalets and mistresses and vacation on the Riviera. The masses stand miles deep waiting for a loaf of bread.

That’s the deal Bernie and Hillary are selling. In fact the two of them are out there dueling for the most extreme spot on the Left.

The system is so rotten that even Putin isn’t a socialist/Communist anymore. Russia gave it up, more or less, for its own type of free enterprise

The people actually living under Communism hated the damned thing. The Soviets needed tanks to keep the folks roped in.

The burghers of East Berlin looked over at West Berlin and asked, why can’t we too have food, clothing, bright lights, big cities – freedom and chocolates?

Since the turn of the 1900s, we’ve always had Americans infatuated by the lures of Marxist-Leninism so long as they remained infatuated from Beverly Hills, or Fifth Avenue. These fellow travelers gushed for Communism from such places as The New York Times and The New York Review of Books.

Would they actually want to live in a Communist Paradise? Are you kidding? Leave my table at Saju Bistro and Katz’s Deli?

The Times did have a particularly famous correspondent who reported from the Soviet Union. That was Walter Duranty. Yes he did win a Pulitzer. But he remains famous for whitewashing the sins of Communism, like forgetting to mention the 1932-1933 widespread famines in the USSR, particularly the mass starvation in the Ukraine.

More recently Warren Beatty comes to mind as among our elites so taken in by “Reds,” the name of a (1981) movie he made about American John Reed who went over to Russia to join the Socialist Revolution. Beatty made it seem so romantic and dandy. Notice, however, that after the filming and following the Oscar for Best Director, Beatty still lunches at Wolfgang Puck’s Spago.

Communism sounds terrific, but only from a dreamy distance.

For some reason, to this day the attraction still holds among the young and the stupid.

There is no cure, I suppose, for such a grand delusion.

I once worked for a guy in Philly who, as usual, called himself a socialist but was, as usual, actually a Communist.

Over coffee, I said, “But Lou, don’t you know that Stalin murdered 90 million of his own people?”

“He did not!” Lou shot back in Stalin’s defense. “Only 60 million.”

Who can argue with that?

IMPOLITE QUESTIONS FOR TRUDEAU - DECEMBER 13, 2015

Mercy may rebound and righteousness may lead to jihad.

First of all, to equate “the plight of the Syrian refugees,” who have choices, with the plight of the Jews is an insult to decency.

The Jews who survived the Holocaust had no choices…except to be exterminated. They had no place to go. Every door was closed. Some managed to trickle in to the New World. For the Syrians an entire world awaits them, beginning with the 57 countries that make up the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Plus Europe, Canada and Jewish groups (see here) who have opened their arms to welcome the Syrians as they never welcomed the Jews.

Only yesterday a beaming Prime Minister Justin Trudeau welcomed the first arrivals.

Nuremberg Laws. Boycotts. Round-ups. Cattle cars. Death camps. Beatings. Starvation. Genocide. That was the fate for the Jews.

Nothing like that for Syrians on the run and seeking “a better life” -- but also bringing with them sharia, jihad and anti-Semitism.

Unpleasant to say, but a fact, supported by surveys that show nearly 90 percent of them openly hostile to Jews, and Christians.

For the Jews of a generation ago it was not about seeking a better life, but seeking life, period. The few who came, came without shoes.

The Syrians appear well-fed, well-dressed, mostly men, hence likely deserters. They make demands.

Jews made no demands. They were grateful for anything.

They came with violins. They never torched the American flag, never shouted Allah Akbar or beheaded infidels.

They came. They assimilated. They worked. They won Nobel Prizes and still today there are no Jewish “no-go” zones.

This too is unpleasant to say, but today’s migrants do pose a threat.

Not all are radicalized Muslims. I have enough Muslim neighbors to know that plenty are good citizens.

But who can sort the bad from the good?

We could not sort them out in New York or in Boston and we were unable to tell them apart at Fort Hood. Paris could not sort them out, either.

Apparently that is of no concern to the tenderhearted, Canadian and American Jews among them, who’ve opened their doors, their hearts, their houses of worship to people whose allegiance is not to the Jewish or to the Christian Bible, but to the Koran, which codifies an entirely different sort of behavior.

Europe is finished. You’ve lost your continent to Islam – which, come to think of it, may be an improvement.

Trudeau of Canada is bringing in 25,000 of them like rock stars. So if they are in Canada, they are also in border-deficient United States.

Has Trudeau thought this through, the gamble he’s taking not just for Canada, but for the rest of us as well?

They can come and go as they please. Thus his generosity puts us all at risk.

They are coming to a synagogue near you, in some cases at the invitation of your rabbi. So is it impolite to ask why this does not work both ways? Where is the hospitality from the mosques, any mosque, even one, when Jews are hurting? Is there any record, any evidence of this happening today, yesterday, or ever?

These charitable hosts, Liberals all, allege that the Bible commands them to be merciful. Merciful, yes, but not stupid.

Europe is finished. You’ve lost your continent to Islam – which, come to think of it, may be an improvement.
Ecclesiastes in fact warns against being “overly righteous.”

We did not ask to be a partner to this migration. It’s been forced upon us.

They could be doctors. They could terrorists, what’s coming.

So your generosity is our peril. Your mercies may well be our consequences. Your righteousness may be the next San Bernardino.

You are too kind, my Liberal friends. Much too kind. Much too dangerous.

HILLARY AND THE TRIUMPH OF MEDIOCRITY - OCTOBER 28, 2015

Once we had Abraham Lincoln...

The most they could say was that she was adequate – and for that reason she deserves to become President of the United States.

Nobody in America asks for greatness anymore, adequacy is good, or good enough.

Moments after the Benghazi hearing, Liberals throughout the land breathed a tsunami sigh of relief.

Their girl Hillary did not stumble. She did not make a complete fool of herself. She was not shrill. Only once or twice did she laugh that cackling laugh.
That she was caught double-talking, even lying, nobody cares. She presented herself well and that counts as success.

She succeeded, according to the fawning experts throughout the dials, because she was “cool.” She was “calm.” She “gave as good as she got.”

That she was caught double-talking, even lying, nobody cares. She presented herself well and that counts as success.
“She stuck to her guns,” said one pundit. “Well prepared,” said another. “She proved that she could be tough,” qvelled the Times.

Did she prove that she could be brilliant? No. Inspirational? No. Amazing? No. Scholarly? No.

Truthful? No.

She did fine. She did okay. That’s plenty.

We’ll take okay.

We’ll take whatever she’s got to give because she is all we’ve got, so middling will have to do for We the Suckers.

Adequacy is the new triumph. Ordinariness is the new greatness.

So what if she left four Americans dead on her watch and that she has never shown true remorse or signs of true leadership, she is plain, she is common, she is average, and that suits us fine.
Average is the new terrific. Humdrum is the new wonderful. Was she dazzling, another Lincoln, another JFK, another Thatcher?

Not even close, and nobody expects this. No longer do we expect to be swayed by towering personalities.

Is she America’s Golda Meir, a woman whose gentle strength rallied a nation and illuminated the world?

Or from Hillary shall we settle for her trademark (“I don’t care if you don’t like me”) petulance?

Yes we can!

Mediocre is good…as it was during the CNN Democratic “debate” a few weeks back when there was nobody to debate. Again Hillary won.

She won not because she displayed wit or wisdom, but because shesurvived. This too thrilled her
Liberal followers throughout the land.

Both times the backslapping and towel snapping could be heard from newsroom to newsroom.

The hypocrisy of her smile, the hunger for power in her eyes – never mind.

Our girl did not embarrass herself. That’s huge. That’s a win. She met our lowest expectations so it is good to be a Liberal.

Nowadays it is never about substance. It’s about performance and how well you can put it over. It’s about tricks and theatrics.

It’s about how craftily you can slip and slide…evade, confound and bewitch.

From Obama to Hillary, happy days are here again for the Left.

For the rest of us, beware what’s coming for America and our most faithful partner, Israel.

NEW YORK TIMES CAUGHT RED-HANDED - APRIL 12, 2015

I can’t imagine what it’s like when the top editors at The New York Times get together to further glorify Obama at the expense of Israel, only to find themselves a laughingstock.

Or maybe I can:

Tom Friedman: “We made a mistake.”

“Mistake? We’re Liberals. We never make mistakes. Friedman, you’re fired.”
If only…

What happened? On Wednesday the wizards at the Times’ “editorial board” sought ways to put lipstick on a pig to sell it as kosher. The editorial, written under the spell of gobbledygook, declared that the Iran Nuke agreements were a win for the United States over the ayatollahs and that Israel ought to know better than to second-guess President Obama.

So shut up, the Times explained. We know what’s good. Iran has agreed to everything, even the gradual lifting of sanctions.

But oops, the next day it was a different story, literally. The Times had to retract, without saying so, of course.
Iran’s supreme leader rushed to twitter to say that NOTHING from Obama’s fact sheet is true and indeed, the sanctions are to be lifted immediately.

Quite a fix if you are The New York Times and got caught being stupid. So on Thursday, the Times admitted, “the truth depends on who’s talking.”

So we’re left with a terribly sad conclusion. If you seek the truth, listen to the ayatollahs.
The government of the United States  “lies, deceives” and has “devilish intentions.” Who says so? Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Him you can believe.

One thing he’s not is a Liberal. Liberals have a bad habit of fabricating to fit a specific point of view. The Times does it every day. Rolling Stone magazine does it every other day, on going after Israel with falsehoods or reporting as fact a rape that never happened at the University of Virginia.

The Liberal agenda must be served no matter who gets hurt or whose reputation gets tarnished, like Harry Reid’s whopper about Mitt Romney.

But politicians are not expected to be truthful. That’s why we invented journalists.  “Journalists are assigned to be the flies on the walls of civilization in order to alert us to the intrigues being whispered in dark corners,” a quote from the newsroom drama The Bathsheba Deadline.

There has never been a time in America when journalism has failed so miserably. Tom Friedman illustrates the point with his THREE Pulitzer prizes.

In general terms, never before has news been delivered so one-sided from print to broadcast.
Never before has journalism been so wedded to a specific ideology, so that we are fed a constant diet of mendacity and disinformation.

Go – ask the ayatollahs.
It’s a sad day when we have to turn to tyrannical regimes for news we can trust.
